Jeremy Downey and Emily Tuttle Shell have designed Bistro V to offer "downtown" fare without the "downtown" fuss.
Bistro V is conveniently located on Montgomery Highway in Vestavia Hills next door to Vestavia Hills City Hall. We offer Lunch, Dinner and weekend Brunch. Chef Downey’s menu offers dishes of fresh seafood and local and organic meats and vegetables.
Some of our customers’ favorite dishes include Shrimp and Grits, Birmingham’s Best Oysters, Braised Short Ribs and the ever popular Farmer’s Market Salad. One of my new favorites. Great food and probably the best bread I've ever had...maybe number 2 but I'm not sure.
The dinner selections were adequate and varied. Our party of four so enjoyed the fried shrimp, crab cakes, and fish selections. I typically choose a wedge salad and this one did not disappoint with an ample size and dressing that was scrumptious.
From the moment you walk in the soft music invites you to feel at home. Yashi (not sure of spelling) was an excellent waiter with great knowledge of the menu. The food was amazing. We will definitely be back.
